A building that was undergoing renovation work collapsed in China’s Wenzhou city, killing four people, state-run media reported on Sunday.
The incident took place on Saturday and the four people who died were all construction workers, news agency Reuters reported, citing China Central Television (CCTV).
Rescue operations were affected due to incessant rainfall. An investigation into the incident was on, according to CCTV.
There have been a spate of incidents across China where building structures have collapsed due to adverse weather conditions.
Last week, three people were killed after a gym collapsed in heavy snow in the northeast province of Heilongjiang.
In July, a roof of a school gym in Heilongjiang province caved in during heavy rain, which claimed 11 lives. According to authorities, the collapse may have occurred as construction materials were illegally stacked on the roof, state-run Xinhua News Agency reported.
