Joe Biden trolls Donald Trump for winning golf awards at own golf club

US President Joe Biden poked fun at his Republican rival Donald Trump after the latter posted on social media about winning two gold awards at his own golf club.

In a post on his social media Truth Social on Sunday, Donald Trump wrote, “It is my great honour to be at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach tonight, AWARDS NIGHT, to receive THE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY & THE SENIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY. I WON BOTH! A large and golfing talented membership, a GREAT and difficult course, made the play very exciting. The qualifying and the match play was amazing. A large and distinguished group will be there tonight. Very exciting, thank you (sic)!”

Sharing on X a screenshot of Trump’s post, Joe Biden wrote, “Congratulations, Donald. Quite the accomplishment.”

Biden’s post came weeks after he and Trump clinched their parties’ respective nominations for the general elections later this year.

A rematch is expected between the two leaders. The last time they faced each other was in 2020 when Biden defeated Trump, who was then the President of the United States.

This marks the first presidential rematch since 1956 and the first time a current and a former president have faced off since 1892, setting the stage for an electoral showdown of significant historical importance.
